How to downsize a 4K clip in adobe premiere pro

Have you ever tried to import a 4k footage into a 1080p 25 sequence in adobe premiere? 

let's imagine how does it look?

First, the moment you drop this clip into your 1080p sequence, you get a message like the below - 

Yes, At first, this does look frightening but let's ignore this for some time and click on the  "keep existing settings" button.

but when you see your editing monitor, you end up having a view like below - 


where you can clearly see a difference between source monitor and sequence monitor. in the sequence, the monitor image is not properly fitted; many parts are left out due to the fact that you wanted to fit a large image 4K (3840X2160) into a full HD sequence which is 1920X1080. 


So what is the solution? the solution here is to downgrade the footage. to do downgrading- 

1) Please go to the timeline 

2)  Select the footage,

3)  Right-click and select "Set to Frame Size"



And that's it, your clip is resized and fully visible and ready to be edited further.
